Here’s what to consider when rebranding your business.
When you’re rebranding your business, the last thing you want to do is to start using a logo, tagline, or even a new business or product name that legally belongs to someone else.
To avoid costly legal woes, don’t even start making logo or tagline changes until you make sure you aren’t committing copyright infringement. Try doing a search through the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) website. You have the option of searching the USPTO’s database of registered trademarks and pending applications to find marks that could prevent registering your new logo, business name or tag line.
